According to the Hindu Panchang, Siddhi Lakshmi Jayanti is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi Tithi of the Vaishakha month. This day marks the anniversary of the divine manifestation of Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi. She is worshipped as one of the twelve Siddhividya Goddesses. By worshipping Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi, one attains wealth, prosperity and success.
According to the Kaula Siddha tradition, the name Siddhi Lakshmi is formed from two words, i.e., Siddhi and Lakshmi. The term Siddhi signifies accomplishment or success in every endeavor, while Lakshmi means wealth and abundance. Hence, this divine form of Goddess is believed to bestow both success in undertakings and material prosperity. In addition, scholars interpret Lakshmi as being derived from the word Lakshya, meaning "goal" or, in the language of Tantra, "essence." Thus, it is believed that the Goddess grants Her devotees both material wealth and spiritual fulfillment.
Scriptures describe Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi as Ashtalakshana, one who bestows eight forms of prosperity: wealth, grains, progeny, health, knowledge, good fortune, victory and liberation. On Siddhi Lakshmi Jayanti, any act of worship, chanting, fire offering (Yajna), charity, or fasting dedicated to the Goddess yields a thousandfold merit.
Through the worship of Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi, a devotee attains both worldly and spiritual accomplishments. Reciting Shri Suktam and Shri Lakshmi Sahasranama with devotion on this day bestows immense virtue and divine blessings.
