Raghunatha Bhatta Goswami (1505-1579) was born in a devotional family in Eastern Bengal. He is one of the six Goswami(s) of Vrindavana, leading disciples of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In his early years Raghunatha Bhatta spent much time in study, becoming adept in Sanskrit grammar and rhetoric and well versed in the scriptures.
His father, Shri Tapan Mishra, was a great devotee of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
