Shrinivasa Acharya was born in 1517 C.E., on the full moon day of the month of Vaishakha, in the village of Chakhandi, which lies just north of Agradvipa in the district of Nadiya
His parents were Gangadhara Bhattacharya and Lakshmi Priya. Gangadhara was a great devotee of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Later people used to call him as Chaitanya Dasa.
