Shrila Vrindavana Dasa Thakura (1507-1589 C.E.) was the author of the Chaitanya Bhagavata, the first full-length biography of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu written in the Bengali language.
Vrindavana Dasa was born in Mamgachi in the Navadvipa area of West Bengal. His mother was Narayani, the niece of Shrinivasa Acharya, a direct follower of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Vrindavana Dasa's father, Vaikunthanatha Vipra, was from Sylet in East Bengal.
According to Hindu lunar calendar Shrila Vrindavana Dasa Thakura was disappeared on Krishna Paksha, Dashami in Vaishakha (Madhusudana) lunar month. His Samadhi is in the 64 Samadhis area.
