To find a suitable Muhurta to begin breast feeding, following considerations are advised -
Nakshatra: All fixed Nakshatra i.e. Rohini (4), Uttara Phalguni (12), Uttara Ashadha (21), Uttara Bhadrapada (26), movable Nakshatra i.e. Punarvasu (7), Shravana (22), all gentle and friendly Nakshatra i.e. Mrigashira (5), Chitra (14), Anuradha (17), Revati (27) and all short Nakshatra i.e. Ashwini (1), Pushya (8), Hasta (13) are considered auspicious to begin breast feeding.
Tithi: Shukla Dwitiya (2), Shukla Tritiya (3), Shukla Panchami (5), Shukla Saptami (7), Shukla Dashami (10), Shukla Ekadashi (11), Shukla Trayodashi (13), Purnima (15), Krishna Pratipada (16), Krishna Dwitiya (17), Krishna Tritiya (18), Krishna Panchami (20), Krishna Saptami (22), Krishna Dashami (25), Krishna Ekadashi (26) are considered auspicious for to begin breast feeding.
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are considered auspicious to begin breast feeding.
Lagna: Except Mesha (1), Simha (5), Vrishchika (8), Makara (10) and Kumbha (11) Lagna, all other Lagna are considered auspicious to begin breast feeding.
Others: Malefic Nitya Yoga, Karana and prohibited time in Panchang are avoided.
