Prasuta Snana

Prasuti Snan is an important ritual after child birth. It is performed after completion of Namakarana and Shashthi Puja when Sutaka is over. It is the first bath after Sutaka which is commonly known as Nahana and usually performed after one week of child birth.

Tithi: All Tithi, except Rikta Tithi i.e. Chaturthi (4), Navami (9), Chaturdashi (14) and Shashthi (6), Ashtami (8), Dwadashi (12) of Shukla and Krishna Paksha both, are considered good for Prasuta Snan.

Days: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday are considered good for Prasuta Snan.

Lagna: Vrishabha (2), Mithuna (3), Karka (4), Kanya (6), Tula (7), Dhanu (9) and Meena (12) are considered good for Prasuta Snan.
