Tambula Bhakshana Muhurat

Baby first fruit eating during Tambula Bhakshana

Tambula Bhakshana is ritual of offering the very first betel leaf i.e. Paan leaf to the child. This ceremony is usually performed when the child is 2 and half months old. Mostly it is getting done along with Annaprashana. In modern times, it looks inappropriate to offer Paan to a child. Hence, instead of Paan, fresh fruits can be offered to the child at the time of Tambula Bhakshana ceremony. Following considerations should be looked into while choosing an auspicious time for Tambula Bhakshana.
