According to the Amanta Hindu calendar, Krishna Paksha Chaturthi of Ashadha month (Purnimanta Shravana month) is celebrated as day of Gajanana Sankashti. On the auspicious occasion of Gajanana Sankashti, Lord Ganesha is worshipped in the form of Gajanana. Lord Gajanana is one of the Ashta Vinayaka forms of Lord Ganesha mentioned in religious texts.
