According to Hindu calendar, Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya is celebrated as Akshaya Tritiya. According to Hindu beliefs, any Japa-Tapa, Havana-Yajna, Dana, etc. done on this day becomes Akshaya i.e. its merits never diminish. On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshipped along with Goddess Lakshmi. In some regions, Lord Kubera is also worshiped on this occasion. This form of Lord Vishnu is known as Shri Lakshminarayana. After the worship, people do Ghatadana or Udkumbhadana, the Mantra of which is given below.
ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं लक्ष्मीभयो नमः।
Om Hreem Shreem Lakshmibhayo Namah।
मन्त्र अर्थ - ह्रीं एवं श्रीं बीज मन्त्र में अवस्थित हे देवी लक्ष्मी! आपको मेरा बारम्बार नमस्कार है।
Mantra Translation - O Goddess Lakshmi present in the Hreem and Shreem Beej Mantras! I repeatedly salute you.
ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद
ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महालक्ष्मयै नमः॥
Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed
Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmaye Namah॥
मन्त्र अर्थ - ह्रीं एवं श्रीं बीज मन्त्र में अवस्थित हे देवी लक्ष्मी! आपको मेरा बारम्बार नमस्कार है।
Mantra Translation - O Goddess Kamala who resides in the lotus, O Mother Lakshmi seated on the lotus! May Goddess Maha Lakshmi who is present in the Beejakshara Shreem and Hreem bless us. Millions of salutations to you.
ॐ श्री लक्ष्मीनारायणाय नमः।
Om Shri Lakshminarayanaya Namah।
मन्त्र अर्थ - हे प्रभो श्री लक्ष्मी नारायण! आपके पावन चरण-कमलों में मेरा बारम्बार नमन है।
Mantra Translation - O Lord Shri Lakshmi Narayana! I repeatedly bow down to your holy feet.
ॐ यक्षाय कुबेराय वैश्रवणाय धनधान्याधिपतये
धनधान्यसमृद्धिं मे देहि दापय स्वाहा॥
Om Yakshaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaya Dhanadhanyadhipataye
Dhanadhanyasamriddhim Me Dehi Dapaya Svaha॥
मन्त्र अर्थ - हे यक्षों के स्वामी! आप सृष्टि के समस्त धन-सम्पदा के अधिपति हैं, हे भगवन! आपको शत्-शत् नमन है। हे प्रभो! मुझे धन-धान्य एवं सुख-समृद्धि प्रदान करने की कृपा करें।
Mantra Translation - O Lord of the Yakshas! You are the lord of all the wealth and riches of the universe, O Prabho! I bow down to you a hundred times. O Almighty! Kindly grant me wealth and prosperity.
एष धर्मघटो दत्तो ब्रह्माविष्णुशिवात्मकः।
अस्य प्रदानात्तृप्यन्तु पितरोऽपि पितामहाः॥
गन्धोदकतिलैमिश्रं सान्नं कुम्भं साक्षिणाम्।
पितृभ्यः सम्प्रदास्यामि अक्षय्यमूपतिष्ठतु॥
Esha Dharmaghato Datto Brahmavishnushivatmakah।
Asya Pradanattripyantu Pitaroapi Pitamahah॥
Gandhodakatilaimishram Sannam Kumbham Sakshinam।
Pitribhyah Sampradasyami Akshayyamupatishthatu॥
मन्त्र अर्थ - ब्रह्मा, विष्णु एवं शिव के रूप में इस धर्मघट का मैं दान करता हूँ, इस घटदान से मेरे पितृ एवं पितामह तृप्त हो जायें। मैं गन्धोधक, तिल, अन्न एवं दक्षिणा सहित घट दान कर रहा हूँ। यह दान पितरों हेतु अक्षय हो जाये।
मन्त्र अर्थ - I donate this Ghat in the form of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, may my ancestors and great-grandfathers be satisfied with this donation. I am donating the Ghat along with myrrh, sesame seeds, food and Dakshina. This donation May it become eternal for the ancestors.
