However in Amanta lunar calendar, followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Southern Indian states, Janaki Jayanti is observed during Magha lunar month. However in both calendars Janaki Jayanti is observed on the same day. Janaki Jayanti is also known as Sita Ashtami.
