According to the Hindu Panchang, Batuka Bhairavi Jayanti is celebrated on the Purnima Tithi of the Jyeshtha month. This festival commemorates the divine appearance of Goddess Batuka Bhairavi. In Hinduism, Goddess Batuka Bhairavi is revered as one of the Dwadasha Siddhividya Goddesses and is described as the Shakti, i.e., divine energy of Lord Batuka Bhairava.
In the Shakta Sampradaya, as well as within the Kaula Tantra and other Tantric traditions, Goddess Batuka Bhairavi holds a highly revered position. She is also known by the names Raktavarna, Chaturbhuja, Trishuladharini and Damaruhasta. Scholars state that the worship of Goddess Batuka Bhairavi should never be undertaken without the guidance of a Guru, as it is a profoundly esoteric and powerful form of spiritual practice. When performed according to the prescribed rituals, Her worship bestows longevity, freedom from obstacles and divine wisdom upon the devotee.
According to Tantric scriptures, at a time when unrighteousness, fear and ignorance had spread across the universe, Goddess Batuka Bhairavi manifested from the divine will of Lord Bhairava to annihilate all negative and sinful forces. The worship of Goddess Batuka Bhairavi makes a person fearless, courageous and spiritually empowered.
