According to the Hindu Panchang, Parvati Jayanti is celebrated on the Shukla Paksha Ashtami Tithi of the Ashadha month. This festival is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, who is revered as one of the Dwadasha Siddhividya Goddesses. Various ancient scriptures mention the practice of Siddhividya worship. Followers of the Tantric path perform the prescribed worship of the Siddhividya Goddesses, through which their heartfelt desires and spiritual goals are fulfilled.
Generally, Goddess Parvati is known as the divine consort of Lord Shiva and as the embodiment of Adi Shakti, the primordial energy. However, she is also worshipped among the twelve Siddhividya Goddesses. Goddess Parvati is the Supreme Mother of the universe, i.e., the Jagadamba and Jagatjanani. Therefore, Her worship ensures the overall well-being and prosperity of all beings.
According to the scriptures describing the glory of Goddess Parvati, all forms of suffering, whether Adhibhautika, i.e., caused by physical or worldly factors, Adhidaivika, i.e., caused by divine or natural forces and Adhyatmika, i.e., arising from ignorance are destroyed through devotion to the Goddess. Hence, one should worship Goddess Parvati with sincerity and devotion to attain supreme welfare and spiritual liberation.
