Krishna Ramalakshmana Dwadashi 2015

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Krishna Paksha Dwadashi that falls fifteen days after the Jyeshtha Shukla Ramalakshmana Dwadashi is known as Krishna Ramalakshmana Dwadashi. On this sacred day, devotees worship Lord Rama and Lord Vishnu, and by observing the Vrat with devotion, all desires are fulfilled, and one attains Vishnu Loka after death. According to traditional beliefs, childless couples who observe this Vrat with faith are blessed with virtuous progeny.

In Hindu scriptures, Lord Vishnu is regarded as the presiding deity of the Dwadashi Tithi. Therefore, it is believed that one must observe a fast on this day to attain His grace and devotion. As mentioned in the Puranas, the observance of the Dwadashi Vrat bestows both worldly pleasures (Bhoga) and liberation (Moksha).

On this auspicious occasion, devotees perform the Abhisheka of Lord Vishnu and His divine incarnations with sacred substances and offer Tulasi leaves in worship. Brahmin Bhoja, i.e., offering food to Brahmins on this day is considered extremely meritorious. The Mahabharata, Padma Purana and other scriptures describe the unique significance of each Dwadashi Tithi observed throughout the year.

For the detailed procedure of this Vrat, refer to the Ramalakshmana Dwadashi observed on Jyeshtha Shukla Dwadashi.
