Vighna Ganapati is the ninth form among the 32 forms of Lord Ganesha described in Hindu scriptures. The descriptions of these 32 forms are found in texts such as the Mudgala Purana, Ganesha Purana and Tattvanidhi. Vighna Ganapati is also known by the name Vighnesha Ganapati.

Lord Vighna Ganapati is the master of all obstacles and the remover of hindrances. He is worshipped as the deity who governs obstacles. Devout worship of Vighna Ganapati removes all kinds of difficulties that arise in life. At the same time, Lord Vighna Ganapati creates obstacles in the path of the wicked and sinful, thereby punishing them for their misdeeds.
This form of Lord Ganapati is a reservoir of positive energy and worshipping Him liberates devotees from negative thoughts and influences. This form of Lord Ganesha is often compared to Lord Vishnu. It is an exceedingly majestic and opulent form of Ganesha, in which He is adorned with various precious ornaments and divine jewels.
In Vedic astrology, Rohini Nakshatra is associated with the Vighna Ganapati form of Lord Ganesha. Therefore, many devotees worship Vighna Ganapati for the removal of afflictions related to Rohini Nakshatra and for the attainment of its auspicious results.
In the Vighna Ganapati form, Lord Ganesha is described as having a complexion like pure gold. He is depicted in Ashtabhuja Rupa, i.e., with eight arms and radiates brilliance through numerous ornaments. In His eight hands, He holds a conch shell, a sugarcane bow, Pushpa Bana, i.e., flower-arrow, Parashu, Pasha, discus, broken tusk and Ankusha, i.e., goad and in His trunk He carries Manjari, i.e., a bouquet or floral cluster.
Shri Vighna Ganapati is another form of Lord Ganesha, and therefore His family is the same as that of Lord Ganesha. His father is Lord Shiva and His mother is Goddess Parvati. Lord Kartikeya is His brother and Ashoka Sundari is His sister.
