Abhyang Snan on Chaturdashi day, which is popularly known as Naraka Chaturdashi, is the most significant one. It is believed that people, who do Abhyang Snan on this day, can avoid going to Narak. Til, i.e., sesame oil should be used for Ubtan during Abhyang Snan.
On the Kartika Krishna Chaturdashi, in the early morning, Apamarga (अपामार्ग) and Chakbaka (चकबक) should be rotated over the head during the bath. This removes the fear of Naraka. At that time, the following Prarthana should be recited -

Sita-Loshta-Saha-Yuktah Sakantaka-Dalanvitah।
Hara Papamapamarga! Bhramyamanah Punah Punah॥
Meaning - "O Apamarga! I am rotating you over my head repeatedly along with your thorns and leaves. Please remove my sins."
After bathing, Tarpana, that is, offering of water should be performed by reciting the fourteen (14) names of Yamaraja three times each. Along with this, Tarpana should also be performed by offering three handfuls of water to Pitamaha Bhishma. Even those whose fathers are alive should offer these Jalanjali, i.e., water oblations. For the Jalanjali, the following 14 names of Yamaraja should be recited three times -

Om Yamaya Namah॥1॥
Om Dharmarajaya Namah॥2॥
Om Mrityave Namah॥3॥
Om Antakaya Namah॥4॥
Om Vaivasvataya Namah॥5॥
Om Kalaya Namah॥6॥
Om Sarvabhutakshayaya Namah॥7॥
Om Audumbaraya Namah॥8॥
Om Dadhnaya Namah॥9॥
Om Nilaya Namah॥10॥
Om Parameshthine Namah॥11॥
Om Vrikodaraya Namah॥12॥
Om Chitraya Namah॥13॥
Om Chitraguptaya Namah॥14॥
On Kartika Krishna Chaturdashi, in the evening, a Diya with four wicks representing Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha should first be lit outside the house for Lord Yama for the removal of Naraka. Thereafter, Diya should be lit in the cowshed, under sacred trees, in the kitchen, bathroom, and other places. After performing this Dipa-Dana, one should perform the daily Puja.
